This really is a nice measuring tape. Is a bit heavy but it’s steel so it should be. There is no doubt that it will not stretch. I use it from time to time. When you need to check foundation for measurements and square, it’s usually in the heat of the day. A metal tape will not stretch. It’s well made and geared for fast retraction.I should also say, it was hard to locate a 200’ tape so I emailed the company. They sent me an Amazon link whitin 12 hours to locate it.

Im a lead man journeyman carpenter in the union and I've used my fair share of tapes, im absolutely disgusted in how long this tape lasted, it would not roll up after just 2 uses(not even going all the way to 200', I took it apart to verify it was clean, then the handle broke while trying to roll it up. LORD PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS.

I would give it 5 stars if it had decimals on the back. I use this to measure houses for appraisals. It's worth every penny. The tape will hold up and likely will last many years. Rolls up quickly. Very sturdy. Not too heavy. I use it every work day

The price was a little pricey but after receiving it, I can see why! Working with concrete everyday, tools take beating! This tape has a really thick coating on the blade and built in brush that removes any dirt or grim when winding up the blade. The fast rewind saves time on job sites and the included stake makes measuring a little easier. Seems like a really strong housing, can’t wait to get it on the job site! I’ll update after a month of use and see how it holds up!

The gears in the piece of garbage I received stripped out the second time I used it. I only had enough tension on it to hold the first 40 feet out of the mud and when I tried to reel it in. Don't waste your money.

So I've been using this for about a week now, i was a little afraid the steel tape wouldn't be flexible enough for what I use it for but, that's not the case at all. It does exactly what I need it to, and I as of now have one complaint. It does not free spool out. I use it to measure storage silos, that range from 30ft-65ft deep. Dirty, dusty, wet environments, it has not let me down yet.Comparing it to another komelon 100ft tape, with the fiber reel that I use as well (6611IM) I prefer the 9100, with the steel tape.

Used for construction, case mit very open so it does not reel in very well in bad weather ( which is the reason for buying open case .) would be excellent if not for that
