We got this and it didn't work. They are sending a replacement but kind of leary about getting another one. It's kind of a huge item to try and have to return. They were supposed to come and pick up the one that don't work but no one came and got it. Now I have to call them to find out why.

This is a pretty good freezer. At max cold, it's measuring -11F, which is great. Seals very well. A little bit noisier than you'd expect - a little bit noisier than a good fridge - but not bad at all once fully cooled down. Glass shelves are nice. Week and a half operating and no frost, so good on that. My only negatives would be: Could use more shelves so that vacuum sealed items aren't piled too high, and one slightly adjustable shelf (one inch higher or lower), is not very flexible. Also, a little freaked out by the copious warnings on the highly flammable refrigerant, cyclohexane - why not a non-flammable one like ammonia or a freon? Oh, and a caution - if you reverse the door, as I did, it's a bit of work and you must play with hinge placement a bit to make sure the door seals well - the hinges have elongated screw holes for the purpose.

This unit uses a conbustable coolant. It is safe for normal use, but when you need to dispose of the unit it must be taken to a hazardous waste facility.I bought the freezer because I have a space in the garage just 3" wider than the freezer. The manual says you need 12 inches open space on the sides and back. Fortunately my freezer is sided with metal open shelves so the air circulates freely.Yes, it is expensive for the amount of space, but I desperately needed more freezer space. I saw the review about the conbustable coolant but didn't think about how to dispose of it safely. Hopefully it will last a long time..
