I'll be honest, I got this for myself, I'm 38. I have wanted to learn how to embroider for awhile and was too intimidated to start fresh from the fabric store. This was perfect for me. After doing the sampler pieces and getting the basic stitches down, I felt confident to tackle something more challenging, enter the Halloween costumes. Was it a big leap, yes, but I was able to refer back tot he sampler when I needed a reminder, or the booklet. I kept the small project pieces and have been using them to teach my 6 year old. She has taken to it quickly and loves it.It comes with 3 needles, scissors, all the floss you need, booklet, pencil, 2 small plastic hoops, and threader. The scissors, pencil, threader, and needles are all placed in a nice foam lined clear plastic box. The needles are in a clear plastic tube. This helps to keep things orgnaized. I ended up taking the foam out and making the container my mini travel sized embroidery box. Got some embroidery bobbins to neaten the floss and BAM! I can embroider on the go or while the kids play at the park or out in the yard. Toss in my purse or jacket pocket when it time to go.The only thing that I would give a 1 star on is the threader, it broke the first itme I used it. I ended up going and getting a more sturdy one from my local fabric store.This an easy way to learn the basics of embroidery and it takes the guess work, intimidation, and frustration out. If you want to learn and are older like I am, awesome choice, if you have someone younger, still an excellent choice. If they are younger like my daughter, they will need a bit of help to understand the stitches. However, despite age, mistakes are easy to fix and it aids in the learning process.Be Calm and Embroider on!

this is a very very beginner kit, but it's cute, it's well packaged, it includes a lot of things that you can try out, and it will last long enough to decide if this is a hobby you want to invest more time/money into. I got this for my teenage daughter who suddenly decided she wanted to learn to embroider ...without my help. I don't mind sharing my supplies, but when she wants to go fully rogue on something i prefer to be able to get her her own supplies so mine stay organized and i can let her do as she pleases without silently stressing about my carefully curated craft supplies. This kit is a great way to encourage that creativity while enabling a healthy amount of independence. The instructions aren't amazing, but there are loads of good videos out there and this kit was enough for her to dip her toes into the world of embroidery and, ultimately decide that maybe it's harder than she expected and maybe she'll pick it back up later, no harm no foul. That's the beauty of this kit - it's inexpensive enough and inclusive enough that if you ultimately decide it's not for you you haven't lost much, BUT there's enough there that you could really play with it and decide you want to go further.

This review is for KRAFUN My First Embroidery Kit. It is a great introduction to embroidering. The product and photos are very representative of what was received. Love the color and pattern variety to aid in learning this new skill.

This is kit comes with lots of printed patterns to work with. It also comes with some small sewing accessories.Instructions are simple and are accessible on YouTube throw a QR code.Embroidery floss given is expected quality for a child product. Colors are vibrant. Sewing scissors given do not cut the floss well and I ended up using my own scissors. Comes with two plastic embroidery hoops.I would easily gift this to a child who is interested in embroidery or cross stitch.This is worth the cost as just purchasing materials alone to make one or two embroidery projects would cost more than this kit.

This embroidery kit is simple and straightforward. The materials are packaged well and come with all the supplies you need, even scissors. The instruction booklet is clear and concise in its directions. I do wonder if I am able to understand some of it because I have done embroidery in the past, though. I think if an older child attempted this kit on their own, they could be successful. But, if some of the basic steps could be put into a video with a QR code, that would make it even better for kids to do on their own. (The illustrations of knotting the end of the thread for example is slightly vague just in illustrations with arrows.) The booklet is not heavy on words, in fact, it has very few written instructions and it focuses mainly on illustrations to provide the instructions. I think it is effective. I appreciate that they have laid everything out in an easy to follow order, and I think my daughter will love this craft set.

They give you more than one needle and frame so you can work together. The instructions are easy to follow and the needle work is kid friendly, so they won’t get easily discouraged.
