This clamp works with the Kreg folding workbench. There is a little slot under the edge of the workbench, and one end of the clamp slides into it. So, you really need to have the workbench for the clamp's greatest efficiency, so you can slide it into that slot. The workbench already comes with one clamp, but I wanted an additional clamp, and this clamp goes into a different slot than the clamp that comes with the workbench. This clamp is easy to use, because it is self-adjusting. Once you adjust it to the pressure you like, it will clamp several various thicknesses of boards automatically. It is easy to use, and holds the materials tightly. You just close the handles to clamp, and open the handles to unclamp it. It is sturdy and strong. I want a safe work area. I use this for clamping materials (wood, vinyl) that I am cutting with a circular saw or jigsaw. I also clamp the miter-box to the workbench, for hand sawing miter cuts.

Very easy to use. If you do pocket holes you really need this. I tried using a standard C clamp you pick up at Home Depot. It kept slipping off the jig. I cant clamp it well enough to hold the jig in place. This is a positive hold and no fear of slipping . Very well made. Plus you can use it in other applications. If your a woodworker you will love this clamp.

I first had one manual adjusting clamp that bought for my Kreg jig. I found many other uses for it and bought another.It didn't take long for me to decide to give the auto-adjust clamps a try. They are the first clamps that I reach for every time.On the downside, I wish that full open reach of the grips wasn't to far. My hands are about average-sized for men but it is a bit of a stretch to one-hand one of these clamps into place. A small-handed person would struggle which defeats the point of auto-adjusting.My manual adjust Kreg clamps, once set for tightening, clamps down easily with one hand.EDIT: I saw some negative reviews on which the person had troubles with the auto-adjustment. I am sorry that their clamps did not work out but I am still very happy with mine.Sometimes, if not fully opened to re-cock the auto-adjust mechanism, my clamps do not tighten. Throwing them open wide, however, usually resets them so they work just fine.As for excessive tightness, they do require readjustment to back off on the tension from time to time but they are still favored over my manual adjusting clamps.

The clamp i bought wouldnt shut at first. I was about to return it and found this other comment on YT and it worked.Thank you for contacting Kreg. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Kreg Automaxx Clamp. Let’stry and do a reset and see if we can get it to work.Open the jaws of the clamp and back out the adjustment screw to the point where it is loose but not falling out. Youshould see around 3/8" of threads between the bottom of the head of the screw to where it goes into the handle. Youwill close the jaws of the clamp all the way, then open them back up. After that, bring the adjustment screw back to thepositive about halfway and try to clamp it down.That adjustment is not an exact adjustment as you may have to tighten or loosen it to get the correct pressure you wantto apply. When you are using the clamp, you will want to make sure you are opening the clamp fully when you aremoving the clamp. This will allow the Automaxx system to reset to zero each time. You should only need to adjust theadjustment screw if you need to add or take out pressure from the clamp as the clamp will adjust to differentthicknesses on its own.

It seemed too good to be true that the auto adjust would be all that great. I have been so happy as this tool applies the same pressure with no adjustments for material thickness within reason. When you get to max extents of the opening it gets a little off but that isn't what I need it for and I have other clamps for the larger openings. Holding 2 pieces of plywood together or clamping a board on my workbench it works perfectly

I found it amusing because before I found out how to use this, I was thinking this is crap too. Many of us thought we know but sometimes we need to find out more before we make ourselves the fool. This tool is amazing, trust me.

This Kreg wood project clamp, is so easy to use. I used it on lots of different projects now and it’s been perfect and gives a real professional look. The clamp holds the timber really secure and the pilot holes haven’t slipped, or burred out. I would highly recommend this purchase, to anyone.
