We’re going through decades of old files and documents, which means a LOT of shredding. The shredders we’re using do not like staples, and my dad has a staple fetish, apparently, which means we were breaking our fingernails pulling the darned things out. I was looking for the ‘jaws’ kind of remover when I saw these; I never knew these existed before, though they’ve been around a while, apparently. We ordered this set, thought we may as well try it out. Lo and behold, it works, really well; both my mom and I are really impressed by how easy it is to remove even old, rusty staples with this style of device. It isn’t always as easy as just sliding under all the way; some of them require a bit of a twist if the packet of paper is really thick. But still—removed, without tearing. I’m thrilled with how much easier this is than ol’ jaws. And considering the reams and reams of stapled documents we’ve been through in the past month, this has gotten a real workout—much more than it might get in normal times. The worst thing about it is that I could lose it easily—maybe I should have ordered in neon colors or something. But the handle is easy to grip and comfortable, the mechanism is simple leverage, and the little blade at the end is the right thickness and shape to get under the staple easily. If I manage to lose all three, I’ll need to order a set of five or something. But if I don’t lose them, I doubt I’ll need to order any more—they are holding up really well under what could fairly be described as adverse conditions, with heavy use!

I watched a man at the Social Security office use this to remove a staple and commented on it. He "sang its praises" and demonstrated it for me. Needless to say I immediately ordered it when I got home. This has saved many broken nails as I do a lot of stapling, removing, and paper organizing. This is a great and simple tool with a magnet to hold the old staple so you can safely dispose of it instead of it ending up on the floor. It is also much easier on the paper than the old claw type that often damaged the paper. An inexpensive tool every household and desk job should have on hand.

These are the best staple removers we've ever used! Very pleased with this purchase! We remember wonderful "fang" and "palm-press" staple removers that worked extremely well - but that was decades ago, when things were evidently made to a different standard. We've tried new "equivalents" but have been very disappointed. But even our 20/20 hindsight/rose-colored lenses of nostalgia about how well those old ones worked gets challenged by these, which seem to work perfectly and easily every time. Would you believe we actually look forward to removing staples now? At first, it was just to test these. But now it's taking satisfaction in having the right tool for the job, and one that performs each and every time. It's remarkable they perform so consistently well, whether it's two sheets (never tearing!) or ten.We have not yet tested them with anything other than standard staples - but that's what these are for, not industrial or furniture staples.Still five stars as is, but room for improvement: 1) magnet could/should be stronger; 2) colors would be nice/cheerful.

These are sturdy for being mostly plastic. Removes staples easily, sometimes it’s hard to remove multiples as they don’t stay on the end piece well. Would buy again.

Cumplen con su cometido, todos en la oficina querÃan uno, aunque me uno o dos hacÃan ruido como si estuvieran despegados, pero no afecta si función y aún asà los conservaron.
