Worked great for my dad's cat when she got spayed. We decided to get her one of these because the cone she was sent home with impeded a lot of her vision and pressed against her whiskers. This was much more comfortable for her. She could move fine without it slipping off, jump up on the couch or my dad's lap no problem. She seemed happier with it over the cone.

This collar is very soft and thinner than it looks in the picture online and therefore not bulky, and it is small enough to use on our 6-1/2 lb. cat. She had a mass removed from her cheek and this collar allows her to be able to eat and drink and sleep without issues. She is unable to scratch her face so she cannot reach the surgery site. It slips on and off very easily allowing us to effortlessly remove it after eating so she can clean her face. It is absolutely perfect and I would highly recommend it. I ordered the size small and she has been unable to remove it on her own. This is a great collar.

I was having a difficult time finding a soft recovery cone small enough for my 3 month old kitten, Millie. The cone is super soft, lightweight, and fits well on her neck. The "petals" or filled part of the cone is definitely uneven though. This means that depending on the direction of the cone is turned she was able to lick closer to her incision. This cone works for us because her incision is on her upper torso but it does not prevent her from licking the lower half of her body. This would be problematic if you wanted this for a spay surgery where the incision is lower. The material is very slippery though and kitties who are determined will be able to push it off with those legs. Overall a good experience for us but it may not work for others. Keep your kitties safe!

My cat is 6lbs. She’s a stray. We’ve had her for 3 weeks. She had pyometra, so she had to have emergency surgery. It is essentially a spay operation. The surgical cone from the vet is ridiculous. She can’t see or eat or drink or use the litter box wo help. I bought this collar bc it seemed big enough. It’s cute, light, she didn’t mind having it on, it’s well made, but it doesn’t prevent licking. She was able to reach her belly. The collar size I bought was small. I don’t think a medium would’ve been any better. This collar is only for surgical scars or itchy spots that are under the collar. Everywhere else your cat will be able to reach

I put it on my kitten instead of the plastic one the vet supplied after she was spayed. She got it off within 30 minutes. I tried again and again. When I went to bed, it was on and it was off when I got up. I ended up putting the white plastic one on her, with help. It’s cute but it didn’t work. I can’t send it back because she chewed on the rope pretty good.

My poor little boy absolutely freaked out from the plastic cone the vet sent him home wearing. He threw himself around and ran into so many things I’m sure he was hurting himself. I was afraid he’d have ripped open his surgical site in the melee. I finally decided to leave it off of him (and watch him like a hawk to keep him from licking) until this little gem arrived. And thank goodness for this solution. From the very first he did not mind it at all. Didn’t even need an adjustment period. He just didn’t care. In fact he sorted of strutted around like maybe he liked his new fashion? It also acted like a little built in pillow for him at nap time.AND, of equal importance, it was also effective. He couldn’t reach to lick and it healed up just fine. The only drawback is the little drawstring closure loosened up very easily, and got looser and looser, making the cone slip off a bunch. I kept finding it on the floor. But still, we were both happy.

It was better because it was soft and allowed my puppy sleep more comfortably but the toes are not secured enough she bit through the plastic and managed to take it off within 2 days.

UPDATE:After using this doggy donut for a few days, I discovered my little guy nibbling on his cast. The doctor made a point to emphasize that the wound (were the incision was made) could become infected which would be a serious issue & costly to correct; "disastrous" was the word he used. The pup is only 4.5 lbs. I heed something that extends further out so he can't reach his bandages.__________________I am fostering a 4.5 lb puppy who is healing from a broken leg surgery. I wanted him to be a comfy as possible and still not be able to chew off the cast. It seems to be doing the job!
