We have Pella windows with framing made out of real wood. They are so beautiful and were so expensive that I do not want to drill holes in them or in the wall beside them, because this would hide the decorative framing around the windows. These are perfect. I love the fact that they look like wood and they work so well. I have bought multiple ones from different companies over the past year. They all seem to work the same, so I purchase what I need based on the length I need and the price. The price on these has been slowly rising over the last year and this doesn’t make me happy. I would purchase the brand that is the most reasonable. I also have one window frame that the latch was broken on. Until I could get it fixed, I actually placed one of these on both sides of the window, instead of a broom and they worked perfectly. They were also hidden so no one could tell I had rigged it temporarily. I even have some placed in a cabinet together and I use it as a rack to hang the washed covers for my Swiffer.

They have great spring action and stay up with no issues. But, they’re supposed to look like wood and they’re not even close. Pretty much solid (and cheap) brown metal. If your curtain has a solid rod pocket, you’re golden. But don’t buy it if you’ll see the rod. If you can make it work, the price is right.
