These are really great strings. The black nylon tape wound smoothness is a different feel that is a welcome change. I find them a great alternative to standard round wound metal strings. I'm using them on my fretted MusicMan StingRay 5 string bass and am pleased with the results. If you're looking for something different, try these strings.

I had never tried these before and I was lookong for a good string for my 5-string acoustic. I enjoy playing my acoustic with the other acoustic guitars for certain songs in a set but did not like the buzzy sound of brass strings. I LOVE THESE! Good warm tone, coating is smooth and as a result I have been able to lower the strings a tad. Very enjoyable to play and would highly recomend.

You'll think the length is good but the last foot and a half is not wrapped, bs

As you can see from the package-it is only a FOUR string set. The white barcode sticker is wrong-it says FIVE string set which is what was ordered/paid for. They are mislabeled and it needs to be corrected.

Although specifically designed for fretless electric bass guitars, these strings sound warm and mellow on (and can be used on) any ELECTRIC bass guitar, with- or without frets. At retail, they're pricey - mine carry a full retail price of $114.99 USD, but I get them at music store clearances nearby (when available). The strings are smooth-wound and taped. The sound is warm, not brassy, and fret buzz is minimized, due to being flat-wound and taped (the WHOLE STRING is taped, not just the leader). You can, therefore, lower the action on the strings (set them a little closer to the fret board), and eliminate a lot of fret buzz. A lot of pros use these strings. The best way I can describe the sound is that it's a little like an electrified upright acoustic bass. Pretty cool.

Amazing strings. Hits the low B perfectly and the top end is nice and crisp. Great range, very easy on the fingers too and cannot fault these strings at all. A great investment.
