First off, this La Crosse Tech indoor/outdoor thermometer is absolutely a five-star product. I love it! I have no way to confirm the precise accuracy of the temperatures shown, because this is my only digital thermometer. However, I CAN go online to confirm the time, and I can attest that, after two days, the clock is accurate to the SECOND. A good sign, I guess, for the accuracy of the temperature readings.I'm not really writing this review just to give the La Crosse "temperature station" another 5-star product review, since it already has quite a few of those. I wanted to mention one very exceptional customer service rep, Lisa. Lisa was crucial to my experience, because the first unit I received was defective, and I needed help. The initial response was not great, and I complained, so I was kicked up a notch to Lisa. The thermometer is great, but my experience proves that it is not impossible for defective units to be shipped, or for good units to be damaged in shipping; so, if you order this, test it immediately; and, if it doesn't work properly, call customer service at La Crosse. If you have difficulties with that, insist on Lisa. LISA. I had a VERY problematic case, and Lisa put out a VERY significant effort to resolve the problem. There were several problems [like the first replacement having been, allegedly, delivered, but not to me], but La Crosse was only responsible for the initial problem of having sent out a product that was defective, or maybe damaged in shipping. Even for the package that I never received [which I know was sent, because I tracked it], Lisa sent out another. She had it tested before shipping. They even tossed in new [I guess they were new] batteries. Not possible to ask for more.So, the La Crosse temperature station is great; and, if there is a problem, and if you can reach Lisa, all will be well, and you will know the time to the exact second, and [presumably] the temperature, inside and out, to the exact tenth of a degree.Also, a minor thing, but kinda cool: The display can get signals when it's 30 feet away from the transmitter.Five stars for the thermometer, fifty for Lisa.

Outdoor temp reading agrees with other thermometers to use. Needed the size to fit in a small space available. Wish the time readout was larger to more easily see it across the small room.

I was given a previous model (WS-9029U) of this weather station from my employer's recognition store. It was a very basic model, giving outdoor temp, indoor temp, indoor humidity and time. It came with one outdoor remote unit with a small LCD window which also showed the temperature.Eventually the indoor unit gave up the ghost and I was happy to find that this model is an upgrade from the previous. The exterior dimensions are a little smaller than the original, but the LCD window is considerably bigger, and the numerals are much more visible.Yes, there are other weather stations that will show you much more data, but this is really all I want. The screen is not cluttered up with things that I don't really care about, and there are just two buttons on the front, one to enter set clock mode and the other to cycle through stored minimum and maximum temperatures.One note, the outdoor remote does not show the temperature like the old model did. Fortunately the old remote still works, so we keep them side by side on the patio so we can read the temperature while outside.Overall, we are very happy with this purchase.

This is a very simple wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer. The unit also tells the indoor humidity, along with the HI and LOW temps detected by the remote (outside) sensors, over the last 24 hours. No problems so far, and I liked this unit so well, I ordered a second unit. I now use one remote sensor to track the outdoor temperatures, and the other to track the temperature in my garage. Both base units are located in the kitchen which makes it quite convenient.LaCrosse has always made great stuff, and these units are actually replacing another LaCrosse unit that has performed great for many, many years, but I suppose all good things have a life span. These new units are much easier to set up and to use. Kudos LaCrosse !

I've had a few different thermometers over the years. This La Crosse is the one that works the best. I get a signal from one end of the house to the other, it's 3200 SQ ft house. Reading is clear and I love it over the rest. Not expensive either. But one drawback is you can't buy an extra receiver to put and extra one in the house. Seems like an over site on part of La Crosse.

My freezer is in the basement and I like to monitor the freezer temperature from the kitchen. For years, I had a La Crosse unit that had a sensor in the freezer, a transmitter with battery outside the freezer and a monitor/display unit on top of my refrigerator in the kitchen. At some point,the unit gave out and I ordered a comparable unit from La Crosse. However, the “new and improved†unit had the sensor, the transmitter, and the battery as one device inside the freezer. Having the combined sensor/transmitter unit in the freezer meant the transmission had to go through the freezer wall which meant I had to locate the monitor/display half way down the basement stairs because of limited transmission range. Fortunately the minus 10 degree temperature killer the battery in less than thirty days and I returned the unit. I’m not sure what La Crosse was thinking when they designed a device that puts the transmitter and battery inside the freezer. Any sophomore science student would tell you that a thick metal wall reduced transmission range and that extreme low temperatures reduce battery life.

I use this for measuring the temperature in my kitchen while making bread and keeping track of the temperature in my outside vegetable storage bin. It works well. My dough rising is far more consistent due to the accurate temperature tracking and I'm able to monitor the temperature of my "root cellar" improving the storage condition of my potatoes, carrots and onions. As the display is not backlit it is a little dim but that isn't a problem for me. I'd buy it again.

Its relatively small footprint fits well on a busy bench top or book self allowing easy temperature readings. The range of the outdoor wireless sensor is amazing. We put it in our outdoor gazebo to allow us to check temperature and comfort levels particularly on those hot summer days!
