This will be perfect for my project.The walls are 1/4" (6.35mm) thick, the inner diameter is a perfect 3" (76.2mm, and they measure to just a bit over 8". The tubes are pretty solid; no complaints there.

I saw a wine rack built of terra cotta pipes (stacked on their sides). I used the 3" cardboard tubes which are a perfect size for a wine bottle. I stacked them between the legs of a console table which kept the pile stabile. Perfect! Much cheaper than the terra cotta.
