The suction cup mount is removeable, and the thermometer should float on its own. Please Note: Please place the thermometer vertically inside your fish tank. This allows the colored liquid to pool at the bottom, and give an accurate temperature reading. Some settling may have occurred during the delivery process, but the interior liquid will return to the bulb once it’s set into a vertical position.

I don’t normally give out reviews and this isnt a lot of money item but the seller is counting on us being too lazy to return... The first pic to the right shows the thermostat right out of the box with a broken thermostat rod in the middle. The second one on the right shows another one with a shattered bottom end, this happened easily when I took it out of the tank and placed it on my quartz countertop. They need to make these better quality. The seller will NOT accept returns so buy if you want broken right out of the box or just eventually broken glass everywhere.Thank You ðŸ™

Took me a while to find some analog ones I liked that weren't crazy expensive. These fit the bill. They come with suction cups so I can put the in my aquarium where I can see them.I'm using them as a secondary temp device alongside my heater display to make sure the temperature is accurate. I've had 5 degree differences in heater accuracy before so it's good to have redundancy.Great item at a good price.
