When I looked into replacing the tailgate strut after it came off this bracket a couple of times, following advice from various forums, I was looking at about $500 in parts between the strut & this. It then dawned on me that instead of getting both at the same time, I can start with the bracket & add the strut if the problem persists. This bracket fixed the issue for good, don’t listen to forums, the metal clip on my strut (comes only with the complete strut) was plenty worn, yet it no longer comes off of the new bracket.Make sure to double-check part numbers—this is RH (like the description says) despite the fact that it refers to LH on many online parts catalogs (incl. the one at OEM Parts Online).
