Just stretch off or.cut off the old one. I scraped off mineral build up on the chromed metal and brass below. Washed it all clean and then installed this new one by stretching over. Works great. Should have done it sooner. It certainly saves water not to have a leaky tub.

I got this for my deep soak tub with the American Standard deep soak drain. It was easy to put on and work perfectly!!!! Recommended for replacement

The other I ordered (see photos) says, "Kohler 1068204 Cartridge Assembly" and the cartridge screw in bolt does not fit the Kohler drain assembly. No reason to buy the whole cartridge when all I needed was a new seal and the Lasco gasket does the trick. I am returning the Kohler Genuine Parts 1068204.
