I'm just learning this new method of foil tape and so far it's pretty good. From far away it looks great. But when I was pulling the excess off of some walnut, it started to tear the fibers of the wood out. I spent a lot of time sanding it down from 80 to 220 grit so it was pretty smooth.. Plus walnut is a very hard wood, I don't imagine any softer wood doing any better. Also because the Adhesive works too well, some of it still remained around the edges from where it was peeled off. I might try sealing the wood first next time. But for now I wouldn't recommend this for wood at least.
