It is small and it is a pretty loud shaker. I bought it for my grandson but it sound so good that I will keep it to play during Christmas parties.

....but you can't use it as a conga like some of the other reviews claim. Its too small for that and the "skin" is just a piece of plastic with no acoustical properties whatsoever.....not musical ones anyway. Its a great musical instrument for those whom are no so musically inclined. Its still a fine and fun way to introduce musical education to a non-musician,especially a young child.
