I purchased this for my bongo Cajon as an additional sound. I was somewhat skeptical that I would get a good sound from it, but I was very impressed. It has a nice high pitched click sound that is very distinct from the other pitches the Cajon produces. Very easy to use and mounts anywhere. ( I put mine in the center between the high and low pitches). I get compliments each time I use it. Great idea from the minds at LP.

It's cheap plastic, the listing is only for 1 (who buys only 1 castanet?!!... me :/ ....) and it doesn't make much sound...

A little bigger than I expected, decent sound, a bit plasticky but still ok, and by using my own Velcro I can mount it near my cajon or my conga / bongo rig. Or wherever. PS: just got the LP large cajon castanet. Took some velcro and mounted the 2 castanets on a smooth block of granite (wood block would also work), pretty good sound, castanets mounted on a board start at about $50 but if you have your own velcro you can do it yourself with these castanets.

Really love these. I bought a pair and stuck them on the sides of my Cajon, they have a lovely crisp sound and stick firmly.I also have one of the large castanet, and would not recommend the large ones, as the sound is not so great, andif you already have a kick-box, you probably just want to get a pair of these good quality LP SMALL castanets
