Great product, they are built very robustly, really could be used by a professional. We are going to buy the Congos from Latin percussion as well.

Why I gave this three stars? While they are not bad bongos they sound like tapping on an oatmeal box. The other issue is the cheap parawood. Mine came scratched and that was an issue LP does need to keep an eye on their quality when it comes to these bongos. They do sound better than other brands with a weak snap and the drums are smaller than their more advanced models. In this case size does matter. To achieve the desired sound bigger bongo are needed. While it is taboo to have small bongos or even more smaller the truth is the smaller the bongo the further away for the desired sound. the other issue is the cow hide heads no bounce and ok resonance but, the sound is very cardboard like. For beginning bongos LP did not put forth their best. This is their equivalent to stagg bongos. For $90 it was just not worth it. The sound is good but, LP could do better for entry level.
