This is the OEM Matador Bongo replacement head for the smaller bongo. It's a natural skin, so they're not all the same, but the fit is consistent and the sound is the same as the original head. Takes only a minute of two to install and tune.

The only complaint is that the color of the skin is much lighter compared to the picture. Obviously with natural products there may be some variance but this seemed to be bleached white.It fits perfectly and the sound is great and earthy with a high pitch. Be sure to give it time to settle on the head and give it a couple cranks over the next few months to tune it up. Over the past couple months it's already dropped a full step after tuning up 3 times. I expected this, just hope beginner buyers wouldn't think there's something wrong with the head.

I use it for my matador red bongo and it's look better with mor quality than the default skin that came with my bongo

My bongos live again? So grateful that original head that was damaged/ripped could be replaced with the original manufacturers product. It was replaced and I was banging out some beats in 10 minutes.
