I got this fixture for use as an effect light for a model of the stargate, from Stargate SG1 I'm working on.I'm planning on putting a fine silk mesh stretched across the back of the stargate, and then shine the effect light on it, to simulate the working event horizon after a stargate connects. The water pattern looks a lot like the one seen in the television show.I've only used the fixture for a short time, so I have no idea how long it'll last.

This is not a laset but it very bright LEDs. I had it covering half a living room wall. I would look really cool as an entrance light. whether you shine it on the floor the wall or the ceiling, i makkes kind of a cave feeling. but the ultimate feedback was when my daughter asked if she could have one.

Positives are: Perfect size for mounting in cabinets. Bright light with good water effect. Negatives are: Motor gears are made of plastic and tend to wear down quickly. You will start hearing grinding noises, then the effects motor will lock up. I've replaced them about 6 to 12 months of life. So, if you build a display where you use this light, then make it easy to access. Until they put metal gears in the watch style gearbox, it will require frequent replacing.

I have a bunch of these, they provide great mood lighting.some of them the motor stopped working after about half a year.

If you want to use this with Alexa smart plug, it dosnt remember last setting and always starts with all the colors and super fast. Why don’t manufactures fix this for the smart plug gen
