I bought Spike for my granddaughter when she was about 12 months old. She’s about 18 months old now and still enjoys putting the colorful spikes in the hedgehog as she says the colors. My daughter didn’t understand when I bought it because it doesn’t “do anything†but now she gets it. It’s for teaching fine motor skills. I got the idea from her favorite teacher (Ms Rachel). It’s one of the few toys that stays in rotation (along with the fake ice cream cones haha)!!

I bought this toy for my son when he was about 9 months old, and he still plays with it now at 2.5. It is nice and colorful, and definitely helped him with his fine motor skills. He had trouble getting the quills into the holes at first. It has provided hours of entertainment.We did lose some quills, and he was very upset. So, I ended up buying a second one to replace it. The quills fit inside the toy when not in use. So, it is fairly easy to keep them together if you are intentional about cleaning it up when they are done playing.

This has got to me the most loved and used Christmas present my daughter received this year playing with it multiple times a day, every day. She loves her hedgehog and gives it kisses. Love the book it comes with for fun educational play. As soon as it went on sale I knew for sure I was purchasing this and it was well worth it! It’s a little flimsy feeling but does the trick.

Most youngsters will enjoy playing and learning with this hedgehog. As expected, the packaging is superb; bright, colourful and good quality. It looks immediately appealing and on taking the hedgehog out, it’s clear to see and feel the quality of the mouldings. All rounded and unlikely to harm.Kids live sticking things in holes, so there’s the first hook. Linking that to the book and specific words, along with colour is an easy way to develop other skills. Excellent learning at play toy.

Learning Resources Spike The Hedgehog.I have been a fan of Learning Resources products for many years. They always combine learning with play, which is the perfect combination in my opinion.Spike the hedgehog set is very bright and colourful, and guaranteed to appeal to all younger children. This particular set is recommended for children 18 months plus. It teaches children with their first words, and fine motor skills. Like all other products from Learning Resources children enjoy playing so much, they don’t actually realise they're learning too.
