I usually don't write reviews for products, but holy smokes this thing is probably one of the smartest gear purchases I've made with regards to mountain biking.Bought it before going to a downhill park because of the sale price. I usually don't ride with chest pro, but have been feeling for a long time that I really should. I really wanted to try something lightweight and easy to wear/remove as most of the riding I do is enduro style with some climbing involved.Wearing the pro at the DH park was so easy. The pro is very light, and breathable. It is extremely easy to fit and wear, as well as remove. It is super light, and breathable. I found that by wearing the pro over my shirt, I could unbuckle the straps for extra airflow while waiting for the shuttle. The pro is neck brace compatible, and the rugged shoulder straps feel lightly padded. Maybe they could protect my collarbone? I don't know if they actually would, but its a nice thought.I also think the pro looks pretty steezy too, which is important.CRASH TEST:On my last lap (re-learning my lesson about going up for one more), I had the bike slide out from under me at a relatively high speed. I tucked and rolled, landing pretty much on my shoulder and back into some dusty rocks. Even though this pro is only certified for roost protection, it completely protected my back where the plate had coverage, leaving me with only a small scrape near my hip. I jumped up astounded, and ready to finish the lap. Without the pro, that crash could have easily been a day or season ender. When I got to the bottom and checked the back of the pro, I did not find any cracks. I was astounded at the plethora of scratches and deep gouges left on the plate that could have been left on my shoulder and back. I will now ride with this pro on my local enduro trails. It will be coming with me to every DH park trip.Cons: The pro is super light. With a big crash, or enough abuse, it will probably degrade much faster than heavier armor. It is also to my understanding, roost protection, and not certified for other uses.Verdict: Chest pro is cheaper than a hospital visit, or worse. This was a surprisingly protective, minimalist, and affordable piece of equipment. I am extremely impressed.

This was more affordable than a lot of the other choices. I broke my ribs riding and I wanted something that added a bit of protection. This works great and is easy to use.
