This machine is a great stater for the amateur rock hound. It isn’t too noisy and easy to use.

This tumbler did a great job with the first batch and after that it broke the drive belt. After that it rounded the plastic gear on the motor and then the motor froze up. It almost caught on fire. Do not buy this product. It is not safe and only lasts a few weeks.

I have ran one batch of rocks in this tumbler and it's already having issues. It stalls a lot and makes this high pitch noise until you "fix" it, which is re-centering it. The barrel gets off center and rubs against the metal tumbler, creating metal shavings on the table. I thought the belt would go out before other issues, but I was wrong. Tumbler is also not quiet. I have to have it in the garage due to the noise. If I could go back in time and purchase another tumbler before this one, I 1000% would. 0/10, would not recommend.

I have used Chicago Electric 3 lb tumblers for 15 years. My oldest one finally died. Online, I could only find Leegol brand and is was supposed to be "the same" as Chicago. When I got it, it was really loud. The motor made much more noise that the Chicago tumblers. Then, in less than 5 months, it stopped working. Motor seems frozen? and it just makes a grinding noise. I checked the operation manual for suggestions...none. Made sure it wasn't the belt. I have tried contacting Leegol through their amazon store and directly throught their email support on their website, with no reply. The phone number listed on their amazon store is for a freight forwarding logistics company and they know the Leggol number on amazon is wrong because they field a lot of calls from customers looking for Leggol. Buyer beware.....

Nice size. Works good. It is louder than expected. Belt broke during second batch of rocks. Consider the ongoing cost of replacement belts before purchasing.

A tumbler is a tumbler for the most part. This one I ordered has a transparent cylinder. You get to see what is going on inside as it tumbles.

Belt was off upon arrival. Feet are falling off after a month. Wobbles so much it will walk across a table. Might want to brace this device.

Remove the steel cover from the motor bay. Apply a drop or two of mineral oil to all moving parts (front and back motor bushing, where the rotary parts meet other metal and plastic). But do not apply any mineral oil to the belt or gears, or get it anywhere near those.Apply automotive belt dressing to the rubber belt, be careful not to apply too much or to get it on other parts. The belt will last longer and be less prone to slippage.Replace the metal cover. There are two hard edges of plastic on the sides of the barrel that have been left from manufacturing. Not the bumpy texture of the barrel - two raised hard lines running the length of the barrel on either side. Left as is, these will cause the barrel and the machine to vibrate and bump around unnecessarily. Use some coarse sandpaper to gently sand down those lines. The motor and moving parts are no longer subjected to unnecessary jostling and fatigue.Place the tumbler in a cool place, and protect it from dust without restricting air ventilation whatsoever. (Like an open shelter) Placing the tumbler in a closed cabinet to keep it clean and quiet will cause overheating of the motor, other components and your barrel of rocks and slurry (bad). Tumblers you see in cabinets have motors mounted outside of the cabinet.Every 2-3 months, Remove the cover and clean the inside of the motor bay, as well as the rest of the machine of any dust and buildup. Reapply the mineral oil and belt dressing, and replace the belt if necessary.Your machine should last you a good while following these steps.Optional: If you have one lying around, grab a heatsink from an old computer component that would fit on the steel behind the motor housing. This is where a majority of the heat builds up. Use some computer thermal paste and superglue to fix the heatsink flush against the steel. The excessive heat of the motor is no longer a design flaw. You don't want to use fans because the machine will collect a lot of dust.

My hubby and I bought 3 of these as they were on special in 2024 at one point. All 3 lasted 2-3 months if that. Horrible, metal shaving everywhere, motors broke down. The rod broke off one on then. Very unsafe.

This is my first rock tumbler and have nothing to compare it to. It's been running for 3 weeks 24/7 and no issues to report. The barrel is a softish ABS material, a little stiff but manageable. Out of the package, be sure to oil motor and bearings, check that the belt is on the pulleys and tensioned properly (not too tight, not too loose). I put it in the garage and can barely hear it outside. It didn't come with extra belts so I ordered some separately

Tried my first batch. Loaded 2/3 ful, and my grit and water as the directions state. Installed lid as directed and it leaks from the lid. Tried cleaning and reinstalling and same thing. Water gets past the seal in between the kids and seeps past the washer. Had to switch to my other barrel. The machine itself is nice but the barrel leaking is Annoying. They did refund my purchase.
