I needed a variety of thin stainless shims to install between AR10 barrel and receiver to remove any wiggle room. It helps with accuracy. There was a 0.0050†difference in diameter of the receiver and a 308 win barrel from BA. I added a stripe of 0.002†sheet metal by wrapping barrel extension with it and it worked like a charm. Some of the sizes have slight variation between actual and nominal thickness. Say, 0.005†sheet is actually 0.0045†(I have a very expensive Japanese tool to measure it), and .004†was actually .0035". But, .001†and 0.002†were exactly as listed. For most people it is not a big deal, and it worked for me as well.

When are sellers going to figure out that shipping a product that fits the product description partially but not exactly is not good enough? The description states the shims are two each of sizes 0.001, 0.0015, 0.002, 0.003, 0.004, and 0.005. What arrived was missing the 0.0015 size but had double (4x) the 0.001 size. I got 12 pieces but with a substitution. Turns out that my immediate need was for the 0.001 and 0.004 sheets so no impact this time but down the road I'm going to find the need for the 0.0015. Here are my size measurements using a Van Keuren LWM-60:0.001 shim: 4 samples, high: 0.00141, low: 0.00114, average: 0.001280.002 shim: 4 samples, high: 0.00206, low: 0.00198, average: 0.002010.003 shim: 3 samples, high: 0.00309, low: 0.00306, average: 0.003080.004 shim: 3 samples, high: 0.00391, low: 0.00383, average: 0.003880.005 shim: 3 samples, high: 0.00475, low: 0.00472, average: 0.00474Had the description matched the product then this would have been a 5 star review.

Very maleable material, used to shim a spline shaft and was very easy to shape.

It is stainless steel sheet metal, I needed to make some custom mounting plates for some LED lights for my vehicle, since I was using rivet nuts I have a very limited tolerance on the thickness of my plates. This stuff was perfect for my project.

What I received is 5 sheets of 0.001, 6 sheets of .004, 1, sheet 0.007. What a total mess, don't waste your time. The stainless steel sheet sheet is nice, but you'll never have the one that what you need.

Shim stock was nicely packaged but thicknesses were off. Instead of the advertised 2 sheets each of .001, .0015, .002, .003, .004, .005, I received the following; 4 shts of .001, 2 shts of .002, 2 shts of .003, 2 shts of .0035, 2 shts of .0045.

This is fine, but do not plan on getting the thickness listed. What is advertised as .005 is actually.0046 to .0047. The others are .0038, .0030, .0031, .0020, and .0011. So beware if you plan to get a specific thickness.
