The compact size was the selling point for this nearly $200 hiking poles. Otherwise, a pair of $20 hiking poles from Costco would just serve the same purposes.

I’m preparing for a series of spring through late fall backing packing trips starting with the Grand Canyon and the heading to the Eastern Sierra for summer and fall backpack and climbing trips. LEKI is my choice for trekking poles, the company has many models to select from, has excellent product details available for review and warranties their product for life. I’ve had many trekking poles over the years and these are simply the best, in terms of light weight, ease of use & ease of transporting them to & from the hike.

Love the walking poles - just watch the height because they are best for taller people and I am just on the limit. (165cm) The pair for my husband are perfect for slightly taller.

I simply love these poles.Really well made, lightweight poles with a shock absorbing tip. That really takes the edge off. My husband has the same poles but without the AS option, so we have been able to use them simultaneously for comparison. Conclusion: yes to the AS, it does make a difference.The other great feature of these poles is the top part of the grip. When going downhill, you have something ergonomic to lean on. Fits great in your palm.I would recommend these poles to everyone. Pricey, but well worth it!

Impugnatura comoda anche dopo molte ore, puntale preciso negli appoggi, regolazione della lunghezza stabile ed affidabile, ma molto pesanti rispetto a top di gamma della concorrenza.

Fidèle à la marque Leki, j'ai voulu m'offrir une nouvelle paire de bâtons (la troisième) pour la randonnée en montagne.J'utilisais jusqu'à maintenant des Leki Christallo en Alu pour la randonnée.Les Leki Makalu FX Carbon AS sont légers et bien faits sauf qu'à chaque contact avec le sol ils émettent un bruit de vibrations (peut être dû au cable interne du système de pliage ?).C'est particulièrement désagréable. Est ce une malfaçon ? mes anciens bâtons sont télescopiques et n'ont pas ce système de pliage incorporant un cable interne)
