Glad I finally found these. I had a couple of hole saw arbors that were unusable because of the broken pilot bit. 1/4" bits with the flat spot for the setscrew are not easy to come by. Disregard reviews that say these don't have the flat spot, these do.

This pilot bit was a total disappointment. It broke within seconds of use, even though I was drilling into softwood with light pressure. The material feels cheap and brittle, clearly not built to handle even basic tasks.I expected better durability for the price, but this was a complete letdown. If you need something reliable, look elsewhere—this one isn’t worth it. One star only because I can’t give zero.
