I absolutely love this lens hood. It works great and it flexible enough that I leave it mounted all the time. If they had it in the right size, I would get one for every one of my lenses.

I have tge Coolpix P950 and the hood fits on the camera just fine. Lots of reviews said the hood interferes with the lens when retracted but I find if you collapse the hood there is no interference and still enough cover for a fully retracted lens. I gave this four stars instead of five since I'm not sure how the rubber will hold up over time.

I'm using this on a Nikon p900. I aso have a hard tulip hood I use. This soft rubber hood is a nice alternative.It fits the lens,Being rubber there is less concern about scratching the lens,The hood has multiple lengths, easily adjustable depending on the need.It's light weight, very important on a retractable lens.It doesn't stick out too far at the point where it attaches to the lens. This is important on the P900, it allows the lens to fully retract into the camera body and doesnt intefere. Thus when the camera automatically powers off for example, I dont have to worry about damaging the motor when the lens retracts.The item arrived on time, was packaged fine and has no issues.

I've been shooting mostly birds with my P950 for about 18 months. I'm honestly not sure whether or not this is helping me on sunny days. I'm using it on very bright days. However, with this camera it is all about distance and mode. I'm ambivalent about this device. It fits fine and is easy to use.

Works very will with my the Nikon P900. The lens cap fits right on. The hood works just as expected and will fold to shorten it to be able to stay out of the way for the shorter focal lengths (but not when the lens it set at the shorted lengths).

I received this as a free replacement for the older model which I found impossible to thread onto my lens. The company quickly sent it with no extra charge even though it is $5 more than the old one.This is much improved, threads on easily and has three settings available through the accordion fold in the rubber. The P900 has a very sensitive sensor so any angle toward the sun at all will overload it and darken the view through the viewfinder. The hood allows some protection from the side and the settings allow for easily changing the depth of the hood so as not to interfere with, and show up in shorter lens extension.

I was mad at first. I'v had cheap lens hoods before. These didn't seem too different..but I'm glad I kept these. I'm tough on stuff. They are tough. Good quality, threads nicely. DURABLE. Received promptly. Good rubber.

The lens-hood keeps the glare of outside light ( sun, spotlamps, etc.) from producing unwanted spots on images, plus it offers some protection to accidental contacts on the lens glass itself. With the flexibility of the rubber, it can be left in the folded position for wide-angle shots, or extended for closer shooting. It fit well upon installation & seems quite durable.
