Perfect replacement for the old magnetic ones in the closets. This performed exactly as described and the adjustable depth was great. It made the installation easy since no shims were needed

As others have mentioned, it's a great, solidly-built switch. It assembles easily, though it's a bit bulky to recess into the door frame. I went with a less-conventional installation and mounted it inside the door opening, so that the button is depressed by the inside face of the door, as opposed to the side. It's used in a pantry, so nobody has to look at it from the inside anyway. Definitely recommend it!

I used this switch for a pantry and it looks and functions great. But it's a little to large for the door so I had installed it under the door stop slightly. I probably should have routered out a notch in the door stop for the face plate but I'll cross that bridge when it comes.

My house was built in the 50's and all the closets have frame mounted door switches to control the light. I had one fail on me and ordered this unit. What I was able to do is keep the original unit's box housing and face plate, and just replaced the switch. It actually fit better than the one I replaced because this unit has a groove for the indexing pin of the face plate (the original I removed did not) that keeps the switch from spinning while you tighten the lock nut. Probably could have saved money and just found the switch by itself, but this worked fine. Hopefully this one will last at least as long as the last one did (almost 70 years!).

It'll work, but it doesn't have that satisfying "click" that my old switch has. That said, I do like that the switch button is metal and the depth is adjustable. Also, please note that you need a snap-in plastic insert for the punchout to hold the power wires (if you're using Romex). They're super cheap and absolutely necessary, so it would have been nice if it was included. DO NOT allow your power wire to be unsecured against the sharp metal hole. That's a good way to burn your house down.

Install very easy and works as great now like it has from 1960 when I first used the product.

This purchase was to replace a unit that failed after years of use. My husband installed it with ease, making it so opening and closing my pantry door controls the light inside, just like a fridge. I'm very happy with it.

Old home owner put some extremely dangerously home-made wired jamb lights in all over the house. A very cool feature but not with spliced wires, incorrect gauge, and incorrectly taped wiring.Replacing wiring and the jamb lights with this box was absolutely perfect.

I purchased this to replace a much older version of the same item that has simply worn out from many years of use. The brass finish on this version is a nice touch. We use it with a bi-fold closet door to actuate the overhead light. Easy to install if you are handy with simple electrical switches. It's simple to adjust the plunger to get the switch to come on precisely where needed.

The switch works great, easy to wire up but be aware that the box installation process is time consuming and requires patience. Specialty tools you'll need to make the job easier:Oscillating multi toolSharp chisel/chiselsLong auger bitI'm an electrician by trade, so had these tools on hand already but if you're a typical home owner you may need to watch a few diy videos and purchase some new tools!Best of luck ðŸ‘

Does what it is supposed to do, and after some months, light usage, I don't see any sign of failure. I did install it in a somewhat amateurish way but it does its job - and the kids don't have to remember to turn the light off...
