We found the prior owner of our house had “converted†a 3 wire 240 outlet for an electric cooktop to a 120 outlet for a gas cooktop by simply capping off the white (neutral) and using the bare ground wire as the neutral, all this without changing the 50A breaker (!!) We decided the safest and easiest option was to revert to a proper 3W 240 outlet to which we could attach an appropriate adapter for the gas cooktop. It is harder and harder to find 3W 240 outlets, so we were happy to find this. Wire attachment was easy, but I have to say getting those thick wires in the box with this large outlet was a challenge, even with a 4 inch box!

It's a well made stove receptacle that holds the wires pretty securely. It's pretty deep and I had trouble crushing it into the electrical box next to all those thick wires. But that's always true of stove receptacles. I was happy with the product quality.

I install this below my breaker box so I can plug in my charger for my Chevy Volt. Perfect application, 2 hots and a ground get me 240volts for my Primecom charger found here on Amazon.

Its the best cheap connector. Never fails. Good for replace the water heaters connections, 25 or 30A will not damage it.

Using 6 gauge wire, after tightening down on the screws, it still felt like the whole terminal could move forwards and backwards a bit. This may be normal, and might not be an issue, which is why I left it at 3 stars, but I opted to not use it for that reason, and buy one from the hardware store instead, and it didn't have the wobbly feeling that this one did.

Anduve buscando este outlet y no lo encontraba. Se me ocurrió ver si Amazon lo tenÃa y súper!! Ahà estaba. Me llego en dos dÃas y yo lo busque en tiendas por 3 dÃas sin poderlo conseguir. Pude conectar mi secadora. Gracias por tener esto en su tienda!!
