I'm updating my den and decided to change the look of the pillows on the couch. I initially purchased pillow covers and was excited about the look but my older pillows were kind of flat. Despite my best efforts I couldn't bring them back to life. I bought these pillow inserts because I wanted that fresh and full look when you see pillows online or in furniture stores.These inserts arrived in a vacuum sealed box and were very compressed. I'm learning this is the norm with pillows you get in the mail. In the past, I bought this kind of stuff in person so it was always clear what I could expect. Buying online, however, is a different experience. Once I removed the pillow inserts from the box, they filled out some but weren't much better than my old pillows (due to the compression) until after a few days passed and I massaged the pillows to fluff them out. I think next time I'll try buying pillow covers a size smaller than the inserts. I've heard this helps give the pillow covers a fuller look. I can see this working because inserts can start swimming in the same size pillow covers when they lose their fluffiness. If a big insert is put into a cover that's a tad bit smaller, they should continue looking plump.

I might just have to rant here because I love these down and feather pillows. I am a person that greatly prefers all natural materials any time I can get them. Especially when it comes to my bedding. I prefer cotton, linen, down or feathers for my personal space. It is getting harder and harder to get the kind of product I love, so I am extremely happy to have these pillows. They fluffed up quickly and fit my covers perfectly. They are fluffy and soft and their thickness is great. They are the perfect addition to my 100% long staple cotton sheets, my standard down pillows, and my Yak wool bedspread. I highly recommend them for their quality, fit, and function. I am very happy.

We have a bunch of throw pillows and it seems like we're always adding. A lot of my existing ones came from IKEA and have goose feathers/down. They fluff really well and keep their shape. These guys are definitely less stuffed than the IKEA ones, so if you're going for a very plump pillow, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. They do keep their shape, they just don't plump out much but rather stay on the flatter side even when you intentionally toss them around and try to fluff them up.
