Was receiving brake alerts on our 99 Lexus RX300. Read in forums that one cause could be the filler cap so I disconnected the cap and the alarms went away. I replaced the original cap (24 yr. old) with this one and all has been good for a while.

My BRAKE light comes on when the temp drops. Higher temps, no BRAKE light. One possible problem is a defective cap. Purchased this cap and delivery was fine. Replaced the old cap and my issue remains the same. Question now is how to verify that the cap is brand new and OK. Assume it is and will look for other issues.

Great price, the same part, from Lexus, was 3x's more. This part was advertised as a twist on cap, though the photo did not look like a twist on. I took a chance, fit perfectly, works as it should.I'm happy.

Could not figure WHY the brake light kept coming on the dash panel till I came across a YouTube video with someone else having the same issue I was experiencing. So to check I unplugged the wire coming off the brake fluid sensor and the BRAKE light warning went away. Seems that after a LONG period of ownership of your vehicle that the sensor in the brake fluid cap will stop working and it will need to be replaced. - This was a LOT less of an expense to test and resolve on my own than letting the Lexus car dealership repair at a much higher cost.

Update:Only after 3 months this item quit working.I may have gotten a bad item. Very disappointed.-----------------I have a 2000 lexus rx300 and brake light was coming on and off for no reason.Car was acting as if the parking brake was being activated.I replaced this part and the issue was fixed immediately. It was easy to install, plug & play basically.

I had a problem with check engine light, after reading about similar problem, I purchased this cover, I did not think it would work, but it did fit my Lexus 2000 RX300 perfectly and most of all it fixed the problem.
