I lost my original remote and the ThinQ app on my phone occasionally malfunctioned and would only allow me to turn the TV on and off. After putting in batteries, this replacement remote works just as good as the original. No extra set up steps required. It's great with no issues.

Inexpensive replacement remote for my LG TV that works better than the original remote it came with! I've been using the LG ThinQ remote app on my phone to control my bedroom TV for the last few years once my previous replacement remote stopped working, so it has been so nice to have a normal remote!I love that you can take it out of the package, place 2 AAA batteries in it, and it will instantly connect to your TV without doing any type of setup or having to press tons of different buttons in a specific order. The other sellers of this type of remote all had devices that required disc shaped batteries, so using AAA batteries for this remote makes it easier to replace when the time comes. Compared to my original remote, I didn't have Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, or LG Channels buttons, but this remote has all of them, which makes navigation much more convenient. My TV responds instantly to the press of buttons without any lag, which is refreshing. All of my fellow ThinQ app users will know what I'm talking about.The only thing that could improve this remote would be to use glow in the dark buttons or to have a backlighg so using the remote in the dark is easier. There is braile next to the power button and some raised bumps on the volume and channel keys so you can orient your finger positioning easier, so bonus point for that ay least.

I bought this after losing the original remote to my LG smart TV. I used various remote apps on my phone, which drove me crazy because each time I had to 'connect' my TV to my phone. I found the same remote here on Amazon and at a very reasonable price, so I ordered it. Flash forward to 5 days ago, and I found my lost remote behind our aquarium stand--no idea how it ended up back there. So, now I have two working remotes, one that we use, and one that I keep in a drawer just in case I lose the 'new' one. The best part of this whole ordeal is that both remotes are exactly the same! There is no difference whatsoever!!

It's like they have a time limit, and it's not the batteries that fail. I just ordered 2 new ones which work great, for now. What choice do I have?
