I applied the tube of gasket glue to the groove and pushed the rope gasket into place. I closed the door and let it set for a day. Things seemed to be ok, but after a few days of operation, the glue let go and the gasket came loose. I purchased a tube of high temperature stove gasket caulk and applied with my caulking gun. The stuff was thicker and tend to stay in place. The gasket stayed put. The gasket does a good job sealing smoke inside the wood furnace. I would buy again.
