Functional. Adequate. Economical.

Mouthpiece with ligature nice if/when you break one. Always nice to have a spare with a beginner or in general.

can bare;ly get a sound out of the thing . My 5th grade clarinet section of the band wound up quitting because they did not like the instruments they got this year because " They are harder to play " . No its the garbage mouthpiece now i am scrambling to fill 8 clarinet chairs in the band . There goes the Musicale ,

As someone who's always used a Yamaha 4C, this mouthpiece feels more narrow and actually felt it was harder to play, but I'm not sure if I'm just used to my mouthpiece. The ligature is one of the most narrow ligatures I've ever used, and I feel like unless if you're using the starter orange box Rico 2.5 reeds, you have to loosen the screws almost all the way to have any other kind of reeds. The cork also doesn't feel like it was well cut and assembled. The thing is, at the end of the day, this is only $12. Sure I can pick this thing apart, but it's $12, it's cheap, it works, that's all it needs to do.

As a brass player who mostly plays woodwinds in my home studio, I'm happy with this mouthpiece. It fits my horns well, has a neutral tone, which I'd expect for something at this cost, and it feels "natural" with any reed I've put on it. A more experienced player can probably coax some brighter and darker qualities out of it, but for a beginner or someone like me, this is a quality choice, even if just as a backup.

Tried out this mouthpiece as a spare for our clarinets, but it just doesn't work properly. With more open-fingered notes it's ok, but for lower register and with more holes closed it just doesn't let the sound out. I tried it and my daughter tried it as well, neither of us could get it to work with two different clarinets. Good price, but poor quality.

The plastic cover that protects the reed is made of poorly finished plastic with raw edges that snag easily on skin, enough to be unsafe with a young user who might not pay attention and could hurt themselves. The mouthpiece itself works fine; it's nothing to write home about, but it does its job as well as I'd expect at this price point. I'd be fine using it as a temporary sacrificial learner's mouthpiece for a student with dental appliances that would tear up a nicer mouthpiece. My real problem with this item is that the box it came in had a safety seal which was visibly very much UNSEALED, having been tampered with and ostensibly returned to the seller on a previous occasion! I hazard to guess that someone else was less tolerant of the quality than I am.

This is a basic mouthpiece. Nothing fancy, but it's nice to have as a back up.
