This defrost timer was a match for my Kenmore refrigerator model number. I was able to replace it myself after watching an online instructional video. ItΓ’β¬β’s easy to install if youΓ’β¬β’re a tiny bit handy. Replacing it myself was a great value over hiring an appliance repair person.

Happy to be able to save my old refrigerator. My dad installed it. He said it was relatively easy but heΓ’β¬β’s a master electrician, and very mechanical. So far itΓ’β¬β’s working great and it sure is a lot less expensive than a new refrigerator

Our KitchenAid side by side began showing signs, as the freezer was sllowy getting a little warmer, as was the refrigerator side, and it began making a noise (freezer cooling fan cycling on and off).I looked around online using those issues, and found that this was the most likely cause, so I spend the few dollars in the hopes that it was the problem.Ordered on Sunday, and it came in Tuesday morning. Installation took all of 10 minutes (took longer to empty and remove shelves).Put everything back together and voila, we're cold again. All in, I saved at least $50 in parts, another $185 in labor, and a possible trip to buy another new side by side (what $2,400?).Seriously, if you are not afraid of jumping in, this WILL save you a lot of money!

After Fridge temp went out we were ready to chuck it. Got this instead and it has worked fine.Thank goodness because reviews of the new refrigerators are awful. Hang on to your older refrigerator folks as long as you can. New quality has gone down and long as products like this exist to prolong life a win for consumers!!
