I bought these to use in a cargo trailer converted into an RV. I put two on the ceiling (although they are bright enough that one would do). If we need extra bright light, we can turn them both on. One is near the door so that we can access it when entering; the other is over the "kitchen" area. I put the mounting bracket for the third on the outside; when parked we can use it for an outside/porch light. Because of the way the bracket is made, I know that the lights will slide out and fall to the floor while traveling. One solution would be to dismount the lights when traveling (which would be inconvenient and probably overlooked). Instead, I put a screw part way into the wooden ceiling to stop this from happening; this means I must remove the screw to replace the battery.These lights are much brighter than I expected, and I suspect the battery life will be rather limited. However, for our purposes this is not a problem. We will seldom use them for any length of time, or very often. For general use, it would be nice if they were a bit larger and used AA batteries rather than AAA.And they also make great flashlights, which fit comfortably in a pocket

If I could have given a 3.5 out of 5 stars I would have. I will start off by saying that I purchased them to use for under-cabinet lighting for a desk we just had made. We have overhead cabinets roughly 18.5 inches above the desk. I had thought I might only need one puck to light up the desk area (which is about 4 feet wide) after reading review about the wide swath of light these pucks provided, however it turned out that the puck was too close to the desk and didn't actually light up as much of the desk as I anticipated. I was planning to use two lights, but ended up putting them in my garage to light up my work bench. The other thing that we didn't love about the lights was the 'cool' bluish light it emits. I may have missed the description, but we prefer a 'softer' white light.When I moved the pucks to my garage, I love them. I don't care about the 'cool' light out there and the top of my work bench is probably about 5 feet above the actual working area, which allows at least a full 5 foot section of my bench to be illuminated, which is perfect. For this purpose, the lights were well worth the purchase price of under $20.I personally don't think they would be great for use in your kitchen as under-cabinet lighting as they don't light up enough of an area. I purchased two 24 inch Commercial Electric lights from Home Depot for about $50 a piece. They are dimmable, but need either to be plugged in to an outlet which is an eye sore, or tapped into an existing outlet (or attached to a new circuit in your circuit breaker). Obviously this is not something every home owner can do.Overall I do like these lights, but not for under-cabinet lighting.

I bought these to use as under-cabinet lights in my apartment kitchen after reading other reviews that claimed these lights were "extremely" bright. While these are fairly bright as far as battery-operated lights go and are certainly bright if you look straight at the light source, I would not say they are as shockingly bright as other reviewers might make you believe. I placed two lights under my cabinets and the third light on the wall of my closet. The adhesive worked well in my closet (too well, actually, as I decided to try to reposition it and could not move the light without ripping the paint off of my walls), but the lights under my cabinets fell down in a couple of days. I replaced all of the adhesive with command picture-hanging strips, and so far that has been working fine. Also, the color of the light is very blue, which looks a bit odd in my kitchen since the ceiling lights and range hood lights are a warmer white/yellow, but this is not really a problem for me, since I only use these when I need a bit of additional light prepping ingredients. Overall, I am happy to have additional light shining on my countertop and in my otherwise dark closet, but I wish the adhesive was better quality and that the color of the light was more white or warm.

I bought a few different types of tap lights to try around the house. These ended up being my favorite. What I like:- 9 LEDs with no dark areas in the beam. I tried another brand and the beam wasn't solid like this one. I think it is because they spaced out their LEDs. This light is much better and has a nice solid beam.- The light beam is bright- Solid feel. They are made of plastic, but have a nice solid feel to them. Other lights I tried felt cheap.- They slide off of their mount. You can use the adhesive to stick the light up or you can mount the light with screws. Either way, you are mounting a plate. The light slides onto the plate. You can slide it off to remove the batteries. The batteries are not exposed when you do this; you still have to rotate the back of the light to get to the battery compartment.- Light is self contained when not mounted. I love this - I can slide the light off the mount and use it as a flashlight without having to worry about batteries falling out. I've used is as a flashlight as many times as I've used it as a tap light (I didn't expect this but it has been VERY useful)- The adhesive WORKS. There are so many that don't which leads to light falling and breaking. So this is a big deal to me.Cons- I was looking for a smaller footprint. This version with 9 LEDs is almost 4 inches wide.

We use these bright LED Tap Lights as night lights on our bedside tables. They eliminate the need for bedside lamps as they provide enough light for us to navigate our way around the bed, the dog and other furnishings at bedtime and other times during the night. Very pleased with our purchase. They are unobtrusive, yet functional.
