Lightweight rubber, like an elementary/Middle School foursquare ball. Its not very bright so it won't blind you but enough to see when it's dark out (or indoors). It has several light modes, however it will not stay on one color that you can select. It's either all on or it will cycle through the colors and patterns. Nice to mess around at night and not hard like a real football, which I prefer for a night ball as its less pain full to catch this with your face in the dark. Geat night ball but nothing that you would want to play a daytime game with (unless it's all you had).

This is a fun gift for anyone. I'm not even into football and had fun tossing it around with family. My 2 year old grandson has never seen or held a football and would not put it down. He played with it for a solid hour. The ball is not a sturdy and tough like a real football. It more of a rubber bouncy ball in the shape of a football.

We got the Light Up Football for our three boys, ages 6 to 15, and it has quickly become their favorite toy! It’s especially fun when they’re running around in the dark, trying to catch it with the glowing colors lighting up their path. The included pump makes inflating it easy, and it’s built to last, even through their rough play. It’s become a go-to game for them at night, it's a fun outdoor activity. It's a glitch in the dark football. Easy to inflate. You can play football in the dark because the ball lights up.
