If you have a VW, Audi, Volvo or Porsche with lug bolts, get one of these and put it in your spare tire kit. Makes removing and installing the tire a snap. VW furnishes an uber cheap plastic one . This is steel with a knurled end to make it easy to install and remove.

I have been removing and mounting my wheels frequently lately for various reasons - brakes, coilover adjustments, etc. This little pin makes it so much easier. Lining up the bolts was a huge PIA prior to this. This pin is solid and makes the job much easier.

This is an essential tool to change wheels by yourself which use lug bolts rather than lug nuts. I couldn't have swapped my summer for winter wheels by myself without them. I recommend that you buy 2 (I did) so I could just hang the wheel and line up the lug bolts much more easily.

I can't believe I've been taking off and reinstalling my tires without this thing. Every time I'd struggle with the tire, trying to keep it on while I fight to get the first bolt in and then fail when the tire slips off that narrow lip.Holy crap it's a game changer. Just screw it in, hang the tire onto there, and then take your time getting that first bolt in.
