Aluminum versions are junk. These hold up. Even to the oversized off road tires we all dread on those tire rotations.I'm not kidding, these things are an absolute life saver! If you know, you know!

I have only one car that uses lug bolts. These pilot studs are very helpful in dealing with the wheels on that car. Otherwise, the set sits on the shelf. FWIW, I did get all the advertised pair and the threading seems ok.

Picked up a set with the introduction of the Solterra -- wheel bolts are a new thing for Subaru. Not entirely sure I understand why it comes with 2 of each size; a half kit would do nicely, but the build quality is nicer than a few other Lisle products I've used in the past.

You need this if you own a European vehicle and rotate your own tires. Good Price, Great Value.

The tools work great. However, the plastic case they came in was held closed out of the box with just a piece of tape. The case is warped and doesn't want to stay closed. If it is on its side the tools just fall out.

I'm over seventy, so taking a flat tire off the car (Ram ProMaster 3500) is doable, but wrestling the spare into position for the lug bolts to insert is very difficult (my spare is 73 pounds, inflated). These pilot pins screw in by hand, then you have something to hang the spare on when you lift it into place (it's still 73 pounds, but you don't have to hold it in place using two hands while your third hand inserts lug bolts). Fasten in a couple lug bolts then unscrew the pilot pins by hand to complete inserting lug bolts.IMHO, these are ESSENTIAL. Like that the threads are protected with plastic cap until you use themOf course, make sure you buy the correct thread size for your vehicle. If your tire has lug nuts not lug bolts, of course these are NOT essential; in that case they are useless but if you order the wrong thread size it doesn't matter .

I work on European cars a lot and the product does help removing and installing wheels very easy. It's a well made product and money well spent.

These are very well made, and much more robust versus other pilot pin sets sold.Made in the USA is also a bonus.

Look, I need this tool for euro cars just like you do. But I primarily bought because I thought lisle is made in USA, and the advert says USA is the country of origin. The photo shows the tools are stamped with USA. But the actual sticker on the blow molded box says “made of USA and global components†so I’m not really sure how I feel about that. Could be made in china with some use scrap metal from USA thrown in the pot, we don’t really know which sucks. And the USA on the actual threaded rods is etched unlike other lisle tools which is a proudly stamped in the metal USA.For the price, they seem solid and will do the job. But disappointed they aren’t fully USA made like the Snap-on ones are. Oh, and the knurling on one of the studs seems to be poorly done which further adds to my suspicion that this is made in china…
