Got this to replace a broken heater hose on a 2013 Chevy Suburban. Depending on what year you can just squeeze the two ears in and the hose or fitting should pop right out. On certain year you need this tool to push the 4 tabs on the inside of the fitting out so it can slides right out.I took several photos of the two type of fittings. The tool is well made and makes the hose removal super easy. It fits the 3/4" heater hose perfectly and function as advertised. For the price it's not worth trying to make your own tool and it's small enough it can just sit in the small tool drawer. Best money spent for something so simple and makes the job less of a headache.

This little tool was worth every penny. I was replacing my coolant hoses and while I was in there I replaced the plastic heater core connector with the aluminum one that everyone uses as an upgrade. Honestly getting the hoses off the connector was more time consuming than getting the connector off the core with this tool. Once you get one off the other is pretty easy. One of mine required a bit more leverage to pop free but without this I would have been fighting for a bit. Also I truly believe the metal version is much better for the heater core adapter than the plastic 5 pack they sell. You need that structure for the leverage. The issue is I'm not sure when I'll ever use this again. Cool tool to have though. (2006 GMC 1500HD 6.0L)
