a friend was "helping" dismantle a couch and while removing the cover, he ripped the backing! The rip was hidden under the cushions, but is was about 4 feet long!I tried to iron on patch it, BUT IT MELTED the synthetic material! This patching tape did a great job saving the couch! Granted it is in a hidden spot...BUT it's pretty good stuff!

My cat did a pretty decent job tearing up the back corners of my couch... for free. I quickly grew tired of the tufts of white polypro matting hanging out look though. At first I trimmed it back and singed the edges but we could never seem to come to terms with our creative differences. Eventually as gashes began to widen past the point of any hope of maintenance it became clear some kind of patchwork was necessary. I bought this tape in the hope that it might cover her more aggressive grunge style and it worked magnificently. The corners and edges blend into my preexisting fabric and bonded without any lifting or curling around the corners or edges. The repair isn't noticable without being pointed out and even when it's examined more closely it looks like it was a factory decision. I'm very pleased with the performance of this product. Plus there's enough left on the roll to cover any attempts to resurrect her tastelessly outdated style.

PROS Easy to use and cut out. Cut out the size and figure you want, pull off the backing, and iron the patch tape to whatever you are mending. The tape has some give to it and should last even with repeated washing.CONS The adhesive is not very strong. The actual tape seemed strong enough but that does not do much good if it will not stick to what you are patching. If one followed the directions, a simple patch on a jean would not survive the 2nd to 3rd washing because part of the patch will come off. So the glue part is having the issue and not the actual tape itself. If you set your iron at a much, much higher temperature and really go over the patch again and again, there is a chance that it will stay put on your mended clothing after repeated washing. If you are repairing something like a sofa or a tent, then it may work out better since you would not normally put them in the washer.

So far it seems pretty durable I just want to see how they hold up after washing, I used the patches on torn jeans in the knees and a couple in some thin areas in the thigh areas of the pants, the adhesion appears to be pretty good, I have used store bought patches in the past and they did not hold up for to long, I myself tend to sew up the hole or tear first then for extra strength I iron over the repair with the patch, and then I have a very strong repair, I mostly use these patches for my work pants, and they go through a lot of abuse, lots of twisting and bending and crawling around on the knees, so I will post another review after a couple of weeks and see how these Iron patches hold up.

I have a quilt on my bed that my pup chewed in a few places. They weren't big holes but holes just the same and I wanted to patch them so he wouldn't make them bigger. This iron on tape did the trick. It was very easy to use, cut easily and ironed on very well. I am super happy with this product and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
