These extension rods are ideal for extending a lighting fixture from a vaulted ceiling. They screw together beautifully with the threaded stems, and create a stable rod.One improvement the manufacturer could make is to allow the threaded stems to be inserted only halfway into each rod, so that the same amount of treaded stem is inside. As they are, the stem can be screwed way past the middle point, so little of the stem is available for the rod on the other end. It was necessary for me to mark the halfway point on each stem, and then hold the stem in place as I twisted the rods to the stem.

Prior reviewers perhaps did not realize that this is a light fixture extension rod and have been giving feedback on how they intend to use this as an extension rod for other purposes, which is not exactly fair to the product. This rod is NOT meant to be a curtain rod or meant so support anything in a a horizontal position. It's strength comes from vertical placement.That said, as a light fixture extension rod, it gets my 5 stars.All 10 rods comes individually wrapped and they were all undamaged. Unlike other extension rods that have fixed, pre-determined (and short) male and female threaded ends, these rods include 10 threaded inserts (3/4" long), which lends to the stability of the rods in my opinion. The downside of using inserts is that you can't control how deep the insert screw into each rod and if you want to remove one rod, you cant control which rod will unscrew first.The package will give you one long 118" rod or more practically, two 59" rods. I assembled two rods and they were both straight and stable with the seam lines barely visible. Note: I had to switch out a few rods to get the 59" length perfectly straight, it takes a bit to figure out which rods fit together best.Please note the diameter of these rods, they may not be compatible with your light fixture's mounting plates or rods, which is unfortunately the case with me. The listing indicates these rods are M12 thread size, which is about 1/2" or 12mm for the outer diameter of the rod itself, and the outer diameter of the threaded inserts are 10mm or 3/8".I hope this review is helpful and back on track.

Used these to hang a curtain from ceiling. Most go together flush, but I had to sand a couple down so that they went together and weren’t crooked which was slightly annoying - it would be more obvious around fixtures. They screw together easily and very well.

I needed a few extension rods for lights in my home. These were a great choice, they fit and match the light’s existing rods and allow for the light to hang lower. The threaded extensions work great without any issues.

I have not decided how I am going to use this pole but it will come in handy for some purpose. It will work best suspending a light or other fixture from the ceiling. Don’t expect to use it as a 10 foot pole to mount something on top. It is too flimsy for that purpose. I would not use it to hold something horizontally either. The screw together joints would not support much weight. For the stated purpose of suspending something from the ceiling it will preform nicely. There is enough room inside the pipe sections and the connecting pieces to run a lamp cord. Take care when connecting the rods together that you get the connecting piece halfway on each of the rods it connects. I recommend using thread locker to make sure that you are not unscrewing it from the first half as you twist it on to the second one.
