I bought these for my little canine Houdini that managed to twist out of a typical snap clip & embarked on an hour long neighborhood tour. Fit, finish and operation are excellent but I find the construction somewhat concerning. The loop and caribiner are held together by a snap in c-clip retaining ring rather than being pinned or peened. My concern is whether that c-clip stays intact and in place after long-term use. It will probably be sufficient for my 14 pound Spaniel but larger dogs, especially ones that repeatedly strain at the end of their lead, might not be as secure as one might expect from an otherwise well made piece of hardware. With repeated use, one should regularly inspect the c-clip to ensure it remains intact & tightly in place.

This is my fault for not paying attention to the measurements but I made it work for my application.I did however, need a larger carabiner.

Strong, sturdy, and easy to use! These carabiners are the real deal! I've put them to use for a variety of functions from running line to holding buckets and containers while harvesting fruit or fixing roofs. They haven't had any functional issues, lock tight, and hold plenty of weight! Love 'em!
