Purchased for sanding the surface of my bowling balls (i.e., removing scratches, changing the surface "traction"). These discs DO THE JOB, and DO IT WELL! They're easy to hold in your hand and when used "dry", they "clean up" with plain water, ready to use again! NOTE: if desired, they can also be used for "wet" sanding.They come with a great assortment of grits to cover just about every surface condition you may want. I expect them to last because I use them "infrequently".

You don't get 8 distinct grits, the 3 coarser pads are labeled 500-600 grit, 800-1000 grit, and 1200-1500 grit. What's up with that? You do get 3 unique finer grits - 2000, 2500, and 3000. The hook and loop backing works with my DeWalt random orbital sander.Since the price is low, I'm going to keep them and test them out by restoring some weathered headlight lenses.
