Descriptions
1. Low Gravity Center: in response to the requirements of customers, the center of gravity of G54 is about 0.59in/15mm lower than normal, with better stability and good locking force. The diameter of the ball is 2.13in/54mm and its size is stable. The fast overspeed rate has a safety locking mechanism, which can prevent the camera equipment from falling down accidentally when adjusting the fast forward.
2. U-slot and 360°panorama: with 360 degree rotating dial, it can achieve large viewing angle even without wide angle lens, which is more suitable for panoramic shooting. The ball head came today so these comments are all based on first impressions:1) The product appears to be sturdily made with good fit and finish.2) The 3/8" base thread fit was oversized. The the tripod head base is flat and tightens down very securely.3) Panoramic rotation tightens as the tension placed on the ball increases. It still rotates but not smoothly.4) Ease of use and adjustment is very simple.5) This will be updated once I get out with the 105mm macro lens on the D800. The slightest vibration is noticeable.Update: I use this tripod for projects on a weekly basis. The panoramic rotation is sticky, jerky in cold weather but it is a minor issue. I recommended blue Loctite on the tripod base threads. It is waterproof enough to endure overnight rain exposure. I have not used this tripod head with any of my heavy cameras and lenses.

This review is purely first impressions and not a review of long term use. It’s very large. I knew it was 75mm which I liked. But the ball head tensioner is much larger than I realized it would be. It’s much larger than necessary. That’s my only complaint about it so far.

Works great on my coyote setup,way smoother than the bog clamp.Seems sturdy,locks down and holds great on my heavier AR night setup.

Excellent ball head! I love the lever that locks down the ball head since it’s not round, you can easily turn the lever even if with gloves on. Also, it locks down right and doesn’t budge. I’ve had cheaper ball heads that creep after being locked down and this one doesn’t creep at all. Only downside is it’s a little heavy, but primarily due to the fact of being made of quality materials and being a robust tripod ball head. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Je ne sais pas ce qu'apporte de plus une rotule à 500€, mais celle-ci me convient parfaitement: stabilité et serrage indiquent clairement un usinage de premier ordre.

Värt pengarna? Mitt exemplar måste jag skruva åt väldigt hårt när jag använder mitt 150-600mm objektiv annars glider den i kulan.20kg är lite väl högt specificerat.Med lättare objektiv funkar det helt okej.
