This is nothing special. It goes up and down. I think it is parallel, and it will work alright for my situation. The reason that I only gave it 3 stars is for the knob location. The knob extends past the plane of the bedwhat that means is, if you have something larger than the surface, it hits the knob and no longer sits flat. If you flip it knob side down, then the lift doesn’t sit flat. I have to stack material which I don’t like to do. I will keep it because the price was good, but I would not reorder.

This product has a bit too much "slap" in the screw when changing direction. Also, it would nice to be able to remove the know to accommodate a coupler and motor.
