Drive by Cable

“DBC” is Drive by Cable technology, which usually refers to a way of controlling a vehicle that transmits the driver's operating instructions through cables, rather than a traditional mechanical connection. In contrast to traditional mechanical or hydraulic systems, DBC systems communicate the driver's intentions through electronic signals rather than physical links, improving the vehicle's responsiveness and accuracy.

If you have Drive-by-Cable go ahead and use it, it's not worth “upgrading" to Drive-by-Wire. Unless you want to upgrade to a 2004 and newer engine.

Cautions

  • Easy, just hook it up to existing cable.
  • Works with old school automatic transmissions kick-down cables.
  • Faster response (for better or for worse!)
  • Newer throttle bodies maynot be compatible with all ECUs.

Good adapter. Similar to 551511XG. All hardware was included and fit. Also works on 102mm.I got an intake and 102mm throttle body for free but gave up trying to tune my 102mm on stock pcm. This allowed me to keep the intake but use stock throttle body. Car is an LS swapped E46 330ci.

This is a good deal on an LS gen 3, 3 bolt throttle body to a gen 4, 4 bolt throttle body. The gasket seems sufficient. You'll likely need the 8pin to 6 pin adapter for the wiring harness, which is not included. It's a pretty simple design, people are even 3d printing them. But when I saw this aluminum version available at a good price, I got this one instead for my project. So far it seems to line up fine, but I can't test for leaks until I get my wiring harness adapter.

I put a L76 in my Olds with a LS3 intake drive by way, this was one of the little pieces I didnt think about when I did my initial parts ordering but it came in clutch. Works well.
