This is the cheaper option for a damper tool. I used never seize on the threads and in between each washer/bolt. No snags or problems. Threads don’t look pulled at all. This should last me a while.

I'm glad I purchased this product. Used this on a few occasions to install the Harmonic Balancer on the Chevy and GMC engines of the LS series. So far, so good.

First few threads were jacked and had burrs. If I didn’t go over it and check good chance it woulda stripped my crank shaft.

I used this piece when installing the harmonic balancer on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. This piece will get the balancer 75-80% on there. Take this piece out and then use the old harmonic balancer bolt. Torque it to 240 ft/pds...you will need a big torque wrench for this! Once this is done the balancer is in place. Replace the old bolt with a new one (get a GM on Amazon!) and torque to specifications (there is a process of doing this on Youtube) but I believe once it was said and done the new bolt was torqued to 220 ft/pds.

It worked just as it should. The thing to remember is to lube the threads well as the ends of the extension rod. Most use motor oil, but I prefer to use differential gear lube. 80w90 or even 140w if you have it. These lubes usually have an EP (extreme pressure) additive to them for the loads a ring and pinion see. I have pullers I have used for 40 years and still work lubing this way.

Applied some oil to threads and slowly tightened the crank pulley onto the engine and was flawless. Absolutely the best option. Great value for dollar.15/16 socket

I ordered this product and returned it because the end was not machined to a hexagon like the product description states. I ordered again hoping it was a one time manufacturing error, but the second one is also not machined. I guess I’ll return again. Frustrating.

Bolt threads were not strong enough. Stripped out and could not complete the installation!
