This drum sounded very ordinary when I got it. Then I changed the snare wires to PureSound Pro snares wires; then switched the heads to Aquarian Classic Clear snare head on the bottom and Aquarian powered coated on the top; then switched the hoops (rims) to Ludwig die cast hoops. After that it became a fantastic sounding snare drum. It is just awesome! Couldn't be happier.

Bad tingy sound. Not a quality product. Uses plastic and not the quality from Ludwig brand drums in the past.

Very pleased with this Ludwig snare. Sounds great right out of the box. I paid 109.00, no need to buy a more expensive snare

Its obviously a Chinese made drum, but it seems fairly decent in its construction. My main complaint at this point is it arrived with a broken snare side drumhead. It should be noted the box was in fine condition so it was not crushed in transition. As such I cannot comment on its sound until I replace it.
