Product design will somewhat shield LEDs from water jet. However, the design is far below IP66 standard. May not last long in storm outdoors on side of a trailer. Suggest sealing upper edge with silicone (Silicone makes easier to remove light cover if needed.) May want to carry a spare light, too.

Comes with clear and amber lens. LED bulb much safer than the old 12v bulb that melted the previous lens. Great price.

I did not use theses on a RV. I installed them on my Yamaha G9E Golf Cart for Day Time Running Lights. They are bright and work as they should. But, I did Install a Light Bar as well to see better in the dark.easy to mount and install, I did choose to use the clear lens instead of the amber lens.Shipping was kinda strange, they arrived 2 day's apart from each other. so, I'm assuming they came from 2 different locations. All and all, I'm Happy with this Product and they work very well.

I have replaced all my exterior clearance lights and exterior lights on my RV with LED. I wanted to use the surface mount built in LED to eliminate the typical holes in the back of the fixture due to the lamp holder. This fixture is exactly the same as the 15 year old fixture I took off, with the exception that it has an LED lamp that you could buy separately and retrofit your existing fixture with. I originally ordered a two pack of cheaper LED fixtures with surface mount LED’s and a sealed back, but they were very flimsy and the holes didn’t line up. The back didn’t have a metal frame and sealing would have been an issue. This fixture is more expensive but much more substantial. With a solid metal flat back you can use as much butyl tape as you desire to ensure no water penetration. However, pretty much all of these fixtures, and especially the ones with switches, are designed to drain out the bottom and the lenses don’t really seal. Since one of these is on the front the trailer, it gets a lot of forced spray when on the road. Not my favorite feature.

i purchased the wrong item, i thought the one i got had a on/off switch but it did not so i had to purchase one that had the on/off switch on it... this one with the switch works great, and is very bright for the size of it...

I ordered this expecting to lower the energy draw from my camper battery. When I eventually got to installing this I noticed that the plastic was very flimsy and no rubber backing. The old light that was previously on my camper was way better quality than this one. I am in the process of returning this unopened and just may buy an led bulb for my existing light.
