Was doing a head gasket job and of course the threads on the block stripped. Was looking for a better value than The Honda recommended time-sert repair kit. I've used helicoil before so when I found this alternative option using coils, I jumped on it. Excellent value and the vehicle was up and running in no time after the thread repair. Was able to torque down the head bolts/ studs to factory spec with no slippage and it held. Definitely recommend.

Tap is not long enough at all. All pre 2007 scion/toyota 2.4 2az-fe have recessed head bolts threads about 3-1/2” down from deck of block. tap does not even come close in length and im not about to use head bolt nor am i about to modify my $200+ arp head studs guess im buying a really expensive helicoil set. This whole kit is trash dont waste your money like I did

I was able to rethread two cylinder head bolt holds on a dodge avenger with the 2.4 engine. It was able to handle the torque sequence of the engine with no issues. The tap could be a little longer to be able to tap threads lower. The unfortunate part is that I had to cut the bolt by about 1/2 of an inch since the tap did not reach all the way to the bottom. At the end of the day, the job was completed and no issues arose from the slight modification performed on head bolt.

For $148 only to discover that the tap they include isn't long enough to thread all the way down into the block. I had to buy an additional extended tap to complete my job.
